In a mission to globalize its presence and service, The Recording Academy, the mechanism behind the prestigious Grammy Awards has signed a non-exchange agreement in Africa, Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
The program aims to strengthen the visibility and service of the Grammy’s by partnership with government bodies overseeing pop culture in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
The collaboration with Ghana and Ivory Coast aims to support the thriving music scene through initiatives such as offering training, education and advocacy for music creators’ rights (royalties and intellectual property protection ) to both rising and established artists.
According to the Recording Academy, the fascinating music scene across Africa and the Middle East gives room to foster their mission of attaining a global music community.
